Ghana Country Director
As we reflect on Touch A Life’s 10th anniversary at the Care Center in Kumasi, I am so thankful for our donors and partners who have stood by us throughout the years. There’s a proverb in Ghana about the mango tree. When two people meet for the first time, they gather under a mango tree to share where they have been and where they see their journey heading moving forward.
Where have we been? Fifteen years ago, Touch A Life committed to helping the vulnerable children of Ghana. Even though the work was challenging, passion was the driving force for our team to build a long-term rehabilitative Care Center to offer children who had suffered significant loss a brighter future. We started small and expanded slowly to meet the growing needs. After five years of work in Ghana, we knew it was time to register as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) and purchase land.
As the In-Country Director, I am filled with great pride as we celebrate this landmark moment. I thank God for the protection and guidance that He’s given the 140 children served by our program.
Now where are we going? Our goal from the beginning of this journey has been to raise and equip leaders and visionaries who will change the history of Ghana. We are meeting our long-term goals by mentoring and supporting 39 college students this year. I am confident that the vision birthed in 2007 will continue to grow and enrich future generations. It has been an honor to lead this team.

We can’t believe how far we’ve come since the first buildings were constructed at the Care Center in 2012. In the past 10 years, we’ve completed so many exciting projects, thanks to your generosity and support!
Our Classroom
The Touch A Life school provides classroom space for children who were recently rescued from Lake Volta. These children need special attention and resources as they prepare to enter mainstream school for the first time. Our amazing teachers provide these children with lessons, activities, and projects that help them learn and grow.
Our Library
Our library is filled with interesting, beautiful books that the children can read, both in their classes and for recreation.
Our Computer Lab
Our computer lab, donated by supporters in Portugal, is a place where creativity and design can blossom and grow.
Our Chicken Coop
Our chicken coop is home to our feathered friends, who provide us with all the eggs we could want to eat!
Our Catfish pond
Our catfish pond is underway, and it will not only provide a source of food for the Care Center, but we plan to sell the fish in the community as a revenue-generating enterprise as well.
Our Pinapple Shrubs
Our pineapple shrubs makes us so happy! Thanks to our friends at Horizon Church, we have planted hundreds of pineapple trees that will yield delicious fruit in the coming years.
Our Water Filtration System
Our friends at Living Waters for the World provided us with the funding and resources we needed to install a water filtration system at the Care Center. Not only does this save us money, as we no longer need to purchase clean water, but we hope that the water will be a blessing to our neighbors in our community in the future.
Our Board of Directors and Ghanaian staff are working strategically on a plan of expansion. Our team is confident that Touch A Life will continue changing lives for generations to come.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are so excited to share that we have a donor match yet again this year!
