We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news that one of the wonderful Touch A Life children, Remember, has been nominated for the 2020 International Children’s Peace Prize! This prestigious award is distributed annually to a child who has made a special effort to promote children’s rights and better the situation of vulnerable children. Remember was rescued by Ghana’s Anti-Human Trafficking Department in February 2017, and he is an irreplaceable part of the Touch A Life family.

Remember’s bio is listed on the KidsRights Foundation’s website, and you can read an excerpt of his story below:

Remember has identified a passion for medicine, and he has worked diligently to sharpen both his mathematics and science skills. He is creating mentorship relationships with staff at the Touch A Life Care Center, seeking their guidance as he progresses through the Ghanaian education system and acquires skills that will empower him as he enters into adulthood. As a result of his actions, Remember has inspired many amongst his peers, both in school and at the Touch A Life Care Center, where he lives.

At the end of October, the three finalists will be announced by KidsRights Foundation patron and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu. On November 13th, the winner for 2020 will receive the International Children’s Peace Prize. The ceremony will be available online worldwide.

We are hopeful that Remember will be bestowed with the great honor of the 2020 International Children’s Peace Prize, but we are also simply thrilled for his story to be considered. We know firsthand that there are so many children deserving of this prize, and we are cheering each of them on!
